Well, the pool is complete and we are just waiting for one final check from the Health Department, which should happen this week. To celebrate this milestone we wanted to make a big splash. Nothing sounds more fun than jumping into a pool of cold water for a great cause!
To kick off the 2022 camping season while also bringing awareness to pediatric brain cancer, Mecca Camp Resort will be hosting its first of many Polar Bear Plunges to support the Team Jack Foundation.
Why this foundation? My nephew, Jack Hoffman, was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just 5 years old. He has had two brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and numerous different clinical trials to help defeat this terrible disease. Unless we find a cure, he will never be cancer-free! This is why we fight! My brother, Andy, and his wife started this foundation about 10 years ago and have raised more than $9 million to fund pediatric brain cancer research, support innovative treatments, and bring awareness to this terrible disease.
My brother, Andy, was also diagnosed with brain cancer last year. Sadly, he lost his battle on March 1, 2021, but his legacy lives on in his kids and the Team Jack Foundation. This is why we "flight like mad"!
Event Details
To spread awareness and to make a ripple effect about the Team Jack Foundation, we will be jumping into the pool on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Rules
Create a team, join a team or fundraise on your own using the campaign link from Team Jack.
The team that raises the most money will get a pool party courtesy of Mecca Camp Resort. You and your team can enjoy a free afternoon at the pool with food and drinks.
The individual that raises the most money will get a free weekend in a Glamping Tent at Mecca Camp Resort.
Additionally, each person who raises over $50 will get a Polar Bear Plunge T-Shirt.
Not local to Tellico Plains? No big deal, you can still participate in fundraising for a great cause.
