Spring Has Sprung

The Spring weather here in East Tennessee has been absolutely beautiful! The trees are beginning to fill in, the flowers are starting to bloom and the sun shines bright most days. As such, the nice weather sometimes has us more excited to hang out by the river than to write a Blog. :-) Sorry for skipping out on yesterday's writing!

However, I've picked it back up today and am extremely happy to share the tremendous progress that has been made on construction of the bathhouse, share some fresh news and provide a quick health update.

Constructive Construction

The bathhouse is really taking shape and we are within a couple weeks of claiming completion. The transformation of that space has been amazing and beyond what we had envisioned for it. Our buddy Dean and my Dad have done a tremendous job and we just couldn't be more pleased.

Exciting News

Since receiving approval from the Monroe County Planning Commission, we have feverishly been organizing and aligning teams of contractors to begin work on the development activities for the campground with the big date of April 26th weighing heavy on our minds. April 26th is the day our pool arrives for installation!

One very important piece is the selection of the excavation company, which I'm happy to announce we will be teaming up with Paul Medina for the development of our dream!

Tellico Plains Hometown

In what was a fun change of pace, Robin Robertson from the Tellico Plains Hometown Digital Magazine asked me to write a camping article for the April/May edition. Please take a moment to check out my article beginning on Page 13 of Tellico Plains Hometown!

Quick Health Update

As most everyone who has read previous versions of our Blog know that I had a pretty good health scare about 7 weeks ago that resulted in emergency surgery in Chattanooga to remove my colon. I'm happy to let everyone know that with each passing day I get stronger and am on my way to a full recovery. Next week I will have a small follow-up procedure to get rid of some drainage on the right side of my abdomen where the most damaged tissue was prior to surgery, but that will be handled as an outpatient procedure and I will be home that afternoon. Your continued prayers and support are very much appreciated and don't go unnoticed or unheard. Thank You to everyone!

Closing

Please stay tuned for future updates and announcements as we transition into a soft operational mode during the month of May.

From our family to yours... Stay Safe, Stay Healthy and be good to one another. We look forward to seeing you soon at Mecca Camp Resort!
